It's confusing alright.
Let's start with some simple thoughts:
1. Poverty is offensive.
2. Poor people are not offensive.
3. Hiding poverty from the wealthy is offensive.
4. Showing poverty to the relatively wealthy is probably a net positive.
5. The video shows the people in a loving way... in my viewing of it.
